Great News... and Some Other Stuff

Hello,

I know. It's been a terribly long time since I last posted anything >.<

Anyways, the great news is that we got the apartment we wanted! It was confirmed a few days ago (I'm not certain exactly when) but I'm so excited. I posted a video a while ago of an apartment in the same building as the one we're renting... and the building kind of reminds me of  a castle. We'll be living on the 9th floor. I'm also pretty certain my parents and I are getting bigger rooms than what we have in this house and I know for certain I'm getting my own bathroom. YEAH!

I got culture training for Singapore earlier this month, which was basically learning about how culture shock sucks, what the general rules of Singapore are, and to avoid the durian. Go look up the durian if you don't know what it is. It reeks. I mean it reeks. I also got to talk to someone in Singapore, which was really neat. I guess the malls are set up so you don't have to walk on the street and get sweaty, instead you walk in the air conditioning to the MRT stations and such. It doesn't always work, but it does a lot of the time!

House Related:

The house got its carpet ripped up, so it's quite dusty right now. We also had our veggie patch seeded with grass, which I find kind of sad :(
At least the kitchen is semi-done. It's usable and all, with a few adjustments needed.

I turned 15 recently, and my birthday party is on Saturday night! This has nothing to do with Singapore, the move, the house  or anything  at all but I just want to talk about it :D

It's Been a While

Hello,

I have to say, I'm kind of really missing Singapore right now. I've been meaning to post my final conclusions for a while, but I guess I forgot...

1. Singapore is very clean. There's hardly any rubbish on the streets, and the public bathrooms (where we were) were FAR cleaner than the ones in the States.

2. There's construction everywhere. Apparently buildings over 20 years old are not popular with renters/buyers so there's constant renovation and re-building.

3. The food is amazing. Everywhere we ate was awesome- the hawkers may have been the best. I was craving hawker chicken wings the other day... mmm....

4. SAS is an amazing school. My credits transferred smoothly and I'm super excited to go there next year.

5. There's a relatively active Loli community, which is very neat. Can't wait to join in once I build more of a wardrobe.

6. Singapore is conservative. I didn't see any colourful hair, unusual piercings, or people dressed particularly interestingly. Boo Hoo.

I'm taking culture classes on Thursday and Friday, which means I'm missing school. I'll update some of what I learn here :D
